Wire and plaster
figure sculpture

Alberto Giacometti

Giacometti was a popular Swiss artist and sculptor. He is best known for is sculptures of the human form, stretched out with elongated limbs. It is often said Giacometti was not trying to portray actual human figure but the shadows we cast when we are in motion.
Students will
create an abstract sculpture of a figure in motion that emphasizes the
gesture of a human form in action.
