DRAWING FACES

Facial proportion rules when drawing

1.eyes are directly in the middle of the head
2. nose is half way between eyes and the chin
3. lips are half way between the nose and the chin
4. corners od the lips line up with the center of the pupil
5. ears line up with the eyes and the bottom of the nose
6. you should be able to draw 5 same size eyes across your face
7. female neck comes from the outside corner of the eye
8. Male neck comes from the inner earlobe

Dia de los Muertos






 Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de los Muertos) is a Mexican holiday celebrated throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died.


Clay ( sugar ) Skulls
Each student will choose a style of skull to replicate. They may choose a 3d skull or a flat skull.
Materials 
1. clay
2. drawn or printed example of a day of the dead skull they want to replicate
3. canvas or clay board
4. carving tools
5. slip
6. acrylic paint once clay piece has been fired in the kiln

POP ART 10/8

Warhol Pop Art

Pop Art Lesson
Each student will need the following materials:

pencil
3 pieces of 4x4" computer paper
1 piece of 9x9" white construction paper
Black Sharpie for tracing.
Crayons, pastels, or markers for coloring.

Step 1 -  Each student will have 3 pieces of 4x4 computer paper,

Step 2 - Students chose one of their drawings and create 4 prints of it on their 9x9" construction paper. 

To make the prints, students slanted pencil and filled the backside of their drawing with lead. Then turned the drawing over and traced it with pencil onto the construction paper.

Step 3 - Students traced that print with black marker.

Step 4 - Repeat steps 2 & 3 until all four quadrants of the square

You will need to choose two symbols that means something to you, and try and sketch each symbol in pencil on each side of your rubber stamp.
Once you are happy with your design you may use a carving tool of your choice to start carving out your design in your rubber.
