A silhouette is the image of a person, an object or scene
represented as a solid shape of a single color, usually black, its
edges matching the outline of the subject. The interior of a silhouette
is featureless
Below are examples of silhouettes
Tinting color- To "tint" a color means to add white. The color will become lighter in hue the more white you add.
For this project you will be selecting a warm color ( yellow, red, orange) or a cool color (green, blue, purple) to tint. On a canvas board you will be creating a gradual gradient using your base color and a variety of tints. Ontop of your background you will then paint a black silhouette of an object of your choice.
A flip book or flick book is a book
with a series of pictures that vary gradually from one page to the
next, so that when the pages are turned rapidly, the pictures appear to
animate by simulating motion or some other change.
Flip books are essentially a primitive form of animation.
Lesson- Each of you will create a storyboard of tiny sketches with gradual movement. You must have at least 24 sketched out scenes. You must have: * subject matter *rising action *climax *deceleration *ending
Celtic
art is art associated with various people known as Celts; those who
spoke the Celtic languages in Europe
Celtic art is decorative, avoiding straight lines and only occasionally
using symmetry, as far as we can understand it
often involves complex SYMBOLISM. Most of the symbols look like interlacing or weaved like patterns
What does Celtic art look Like?
Celtic art is full of patterns, spirals,
animals and color. Like their daily life, their art was lively. They
made colorful jewelry, fabulous fabrics, beautiful pottery, musical instruments, shapely figurines of bronze and gold, strong wheels
for carts and wagons and strong weapons out of iron.
Artisans were highly respected. They did not
owe any military service to the nobles. They did not work in the
fields. If they were talented, they gained wealth and comfort. They
were free to travel and sell their goods to other clans. Artists
were appreciated and encouraged.
